What a fabulous property. Remote, tranquil and packed with everything you could need for a trip away. And only a short drive to the many wineries the Clare Valley has to offer. We stayed in the new addition to Hughes Park – Sir Walter’s Cottage. A beautifully restored property with all the modern amenities you could need.
The comfy bed, amazing shower, wood fire and fully equipped kitchen were only surpassed by the incredible location. Picture postcard, like a Hans Heysen painting only better! Alice was super helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely be back.

I fear to say how good this place is, in case it is booked out when I want to return. But in truth it is the best cottage I have stayed in, in Australia, in the past six years. The hosts understand what hospitality means. Just do not book when I want to be there!

Our stay at Hughes Park Cottage was one of the best weekends away we have had. Witnessing an amazing sunrise here to the cacophony of the native birds, sheep and lambs was a memorable experience. We loved sitting beside the roaring fire and enjoyed the generous breakfast supplies

You will not want to miss out on staying in this delightful historic cottage . Built in 1845 it exudes charm but with modern hospitality touches. It is an easy 15 minutes to town . We even cycled there . So much to love about Hughes Park Cottage!

The cottage is located off the beaten track on a working farm. The outlook was wonderful, it was so quiet and peaceful. The only noise were the birds. The house is beautiful with everything you need. We enjoyed lovely early morning walks past sheep, magnificent trees and even saw deer and kangaroos. A slice of heaven.

Our stay at Hughes Park Cottage was absolutely amazing! Not only is the accommodation beautiful, its clean and well maintained and you can tell that the owners have gone to a huge effort with the little details. They put on a beautiful breakfast for us and whenever we had any questions or queries, they were really quick to get back to us. If you are venturing to Clare, this is THE PLACE to stay!

My partner and I had the BEST time at Alice’s little gem of a cottage. You feel instantly calm upon arrival, perfect place to unwind, get in touch with nature & just breathe in the beautiful serenity. We can’t recommend this place enough, it’s a gem of a find in the most superb location, we’ll be back in Winter for sure.
